Shorten Kilt

Two options for shortening a kilt are offered:

  1.  Reversible: the buckles and straps are lowered by the required amount, effectively shortening the kilt by adding to the rise.
This option is best for a minor shortening, or for a heritage kilt that may, one day, need to be restored to its original length.
  2. Permanent: the top of the cloth is cut down to the desired length. Once done, there's no going back.  The buckles and straps are then repositioned and, in some cases, the canvas may need to be repositioned as well.

NOTE:  NEW Finished Kilt Length refers to the kilt length as measured on yourself, without reference to the actual length of the kilt cloth.  Please measure the desired Finished Kilt Length carefully after consulting the instructions in the Measurement Guide.

  • SUBJECT TO ASSESSMENT
